The early bird registration deadline is on 15 July 2010.
» What are the accepted methods of payment?
Payment for full registration fees can be made via credit card (online) or USD bank transfer only. Personal cheques and/or cash cannot be accepted.
» Why can only Visa, MasterCard and JCB be used for online payment?
Due to restrictions from the local provider of the e-payment gateway we are only able to accept these three credit cards for online payments. Please submit your registration fees by USD bank transfer if you are unable to pay online with one of these credit cards.
» How will I know when my registration fees have been received?
You will receive email confirmation once the full payment has been received.
» Why do I need to allocate a username and password when registering?
Your username and password will allow you access to the secure area of the website where information only accessible to confirmed participants is located. However, your username and password will only be activated once the full payment for your registration has been received. You will be notified of this when you receive email confirmation of receipt of the payment.
» Can I also pay for my hotel and other travel services when registering for the event?
No. Registration will cover Annual Conference and Accompanying Persons fees only. Booking and payment of hotel accommodation and other travel services should be handled directly with the appropriate hotel and service providers.

Hotel Accommodation
» How can I benefit from the preferential hotel rates?
You can only benefit once the full payment for your registration has been received. The preferential hotel rates are available on the website for viewing purposes, however, the hotels’ will only confirm a booking until their respective reservation form has been completed and submitted to them. These are located only on the secure area of the website. Your username and password, once activated, will give you access to this area.
It is recommended that participants register and book their hotel rooms as far in advance as possible. A sufficient number and type of rooms have been blocked for the expected number of participants, however, it is important that participants are aware of the room block-and-release policy. Unfortunately the DFSA is unable to organise reduced rates with additional alternative hotels.
» Will the DFSA organise my hotel accommodation and airport transfers?
No, the DFSA is unable to organise these for participants and/or their accompanying persons. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that hotel accommodation and airport transfers (where provided) are organised either directly with contracted hotels or through other service providers selected by the participant. Full payment of these services including any advance deposits, where required, is payable by the participant.
» Where can I get a taxi from the airport to my hotel?
Taxis are readily available as you exit Customs from Dubai International Airport. Please follow the signs for these as you exit the airport. Please note that a starting fare of approximately AED 25.00 is standard for all taxis transporting passengers from the airport into Dubai.
» What does it mean when hotel rooms are being held on a ‘block-and-release’ basis?
‘Block-and-release’ means that a certain number of bedrooms at preferential rates have been negotiated with the contracted hotels for each night of the event. However, these rooms are only available for a limited time period to allow the hotel to sell the rooms to other clients should they not be reserved by participants before the time period expires. All block-and-release policies arranged with contracted hotels operate on a sliding scale so only a certain percentage of unreserved rooms are released at a certain time. You may still benefit from the preferential rates if you reserve a room after rooms have been released however, it will be on a first-come-first-serve basis and availability will not be guaranteed.
Transportation
» What is the Marhaba and Ahlan Service?
This is a personalised ‘meet and greet’ service at Dubai International Airport that will assist you through immigration and your visa collection. This service is chargeable direct to Marhaba or Ahlan Services. For more information, please go to www.marhabaservices.com or www.ahlan-dia.com
Shuttle buses will be available to and from the contracted hotels to transport participants to the event. Schedules for these are available on the ‘Transportation’ section of the website. Any changes to the schedules will be communicated via the website and onsite during the event. Once on the bus, participants are not permitted to ask the drivers to divert routes to suit personal arrangements. Should participants miss the shuttle timings, taxis are normally available from the hotels’ main entrances, however, the arrangement of these with the hotel and respective payment is the participant’s responsibility.
Unfortunately, shuttle buses cannot be arranged from hotels with whom the DFSA does not have contracted rates. Arranging transportation to and from the Grand Hyatt in these cases is the participant’s responsibility.
Login Details
» How do I obtain access to the secure area of the website?
This area is restricted to confirmed participants only. To gain access, participants will need to have been notified that their username and password (created at the time of online registration) have been activated, which will be advised via email confirmation following receipt of their full registration fees.
» Why can’t I access the secure area of the website until I am a confirmed participant?
This area of the website holds restricted information such as presentation materials, registered participants’ information, and hotel reservation forms. Only confirmed participants can benefit from this information once the full payment for their registration fees has been received by the DFSA.
Food & Beverage
» How can I ensure that my special dietary requirements are met at the event?
It is the participants responsibility to ensure that any special dietary requirements are reported when registering online. This information will then be given to the Food and Beverage staff at the event and Gala Dinner venues. Unfortunately, requests made onsite for special dietary requirements will not be guaranteed.
We can only ensure dietary requirements are met with regards to the catering provided for the Annual Conference and Gala Dinner. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that dietary requirements are communicated for food and beverages consumed that are not provided as part of the Annual Conference events.

Accompanying Persons
A programme has not been arranged specifically for spouses or accompanying persons, however, there are many tour operators in Dubai that run excursions that may be of interest. Most concierge desks in hotels are also able to offer their assistance in organising tours for their guests on behalf of tour operators. Further information on excursions, tour operators and what to do in Dubai can also be found in the section ‘About Dubai’ located on the homepage.
