IAIS 2010 will include a number of social events to provide additional opportunities for participants to network with other international regulators as well as experience the local hospitality and cultural features of Dubai.

Annual Conference Welcome Reception
Prior to the Annual Conference, all conference participants are invited to attend a Welcome Reception on the beautiful landscaped grounds of the Grand Hyatt Hotel. This occasion will provide participant(s) with a chance to network with other leading regulatory professionals while enjoying complimentary canapés and beverages.

Annual Conference Gala Dinner

Participants are invited to attend the Gala Dinner to mark the closure of the Annual Conference. The evening will consist of a formal banquet-style dinner as well as a programme of key note speeches from sponsors and members of the insurance regulatory industry. Set amongst serene surroundings and characterised by a variety of Arabian themes, Madinat Jumeirah has been selected as the venue to provide guests with a taste of Dubai’s cultural heritage. Entertainment of a local flavour will also feature during the evening to enhance the ambience of the event.

A Shopping and Cultural tour will take place following the General Meeting on 29 October 2010.
The shopping tour will include visits to the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, as well as photo stops at the well-known 7-star Burj Al Arab Hotel and Atlantis the Palm. In addition, an opportunity to take some time exploring the Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Mall will be included.
The cultural tour will take you to a number of popular sites that highlight the ‘older’ Dubai and which still stand today. It will include a drive to Sheikh Saeed’s ancestral home, insights into Dubai’s diving trade, a visit to the wind tower-featured Bastakia and textile market, a ride on the traditional water-taxis, better known as ‘Abras’, plus several other interesting spots that truly represent Dubai’s culture.
